Managing my internship at Saukhyam while continuing my academic studies has been a rewarding experience. It has allowed me to apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects, improve my professional skills, and gain practical exposure to social impact initiatives while balancing my educational responsibilities.
I work as a Web Development and Technology Intern, contributing to website development, content management, UI/UX improvements, and digital initiatives that support Saukhyam's mission. During my internship, I have primarily worked on website development and improvements, contributing to different pages and sections of the Saukhyam website. My work has included designing and implementing website interfaces, updating and optimizing existing pages, working on Shopify, improving website presentation and responsiveness, creating visual assets and website imagery, and supporting SEO-related improvements. I have also collaborated with the team to understand requirements, discuss design ideas, implement feedback, and continuously improve the website based on project needs.
My experience at Saukhyam Foundation has been a valuable opportunity to learn by working on real-world projects. Dr. Eyazhini R has completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH) at the Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar, with the first year successfully completed.
While pursuing her MPH degree, Dr. Eyazhini joined Saukhyam Foundation as an intern. The experience has allowed her to explore menstrual health, sustainability, and community-driven public health initiatives beyond the classroom, providing valuable practical exposure alongside her academic studies.
At Saukhyam Foundation, she contributes to planning and coordination of meetings, stakeholder communication and engagement, organizing invitations and discussions, learning and supporting menstrual health initiatives, public health awareness activities, social media engagement, and research and documentation projects.
My internship at Saukhyam Foundation has been a wonderful learning experience. Through this journey, I have gained valuable insights into menstrual health, sustainability, and community-based health initiatives. I have had the opportunity to interact with professionals, researchers, NGOs, and organizations working towards meaningful social impact. One of the most enriching aspects of this internship has been learning about Saukhyam's HEAL and CARE initiatives and witnessing their efforts to promote health awareness and sustainable practices among young people and communities.
